Lelatisitswe commends Craft Physio services

The co-owners of a physio facility, Craft Physio have been commended for for implementing President’s Mokgweetsi Masisi road map which encouraged partnerships with the private sector particularly in the health sector.
The privately owned physio facility owned by a young Motswana woman Ms Barulaganye Pio and John Pio opened nine months ago in Selebi Phikwe and offers pre and post-natal care, pre and post arthroplastry care, Neurological and Orthopedic care.
Assistant Minister of Health Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe applauded the owners for starting their own physio therapy business during his visit to Craft Physio recently.
He said his visit was influenced by their response to President’s road map.
Health facilities such the Craft Physio, he said were licensed by the Ministry of Health hence it was critical to visit these facilities and appreciate their operations.
Mr Lelatisitswe said the government was also moving towards a private led economy and his ministry was looking into outsourcing services therefore encouraged Batswana to venture into health businesses particularly services that the government was challenged to provide.
He also added that government was looking into working with the private sector to close the gap in the area of health.
Services such as physio-therapy, he said were better off accessed locally than referring patients to another hospital outside Selebi Phikwe to minimise the costs.
For her part the Coordinator of Greater Selebi Phikwe District Health Management Team Dr Kesegofetse Chabaesele explained that Selebi Phikwe hospital did not provide physio-therapy but only provided Rehabilitation service.
She said due to unavailability of the physio-therapist, the patients who needed physio therapy were referred to other hospitals such as Palapye and Nyangabwe hospitals.
Dr Chabaesele added that Craft Physio would help assist patients who could afford to access the physio-therapy services easily.
Craft Physio owner Mr Pio thanked government for issuing him and his partner with a license to operate their own private physio facility.
He said since the facility opened, it has been receiving patients from Selebi Phikwe and surrounding areas, urging the community to continue supporting them.
Mr Pio emphasised on the importance of physio-therapy as it helped to restore the body the movement and function of the body as well as prevent diseases. and disability.
Craft Physio also offers beauty therapy, facials and manicures. Ends
