After partying ways with its main sponsor Jagdish Shah, Township Rollers is appealing to potential suitors to fill the vacant position, key in any club’s dealings.

The team chairperson, Bafana Pheto said during the club’s Family Fun day on Saturday that partners, sponsors and prospective financiers were invited to come to the party to discuss the deal over a relaxed platform through music and other forms of entertainment so as to make them aware of what the team needs.

Pheto said the annual event pencilled for pre-season, was to introspect and give the team and general membership among them financers and sponsors to chart the way forward.

He said utilisation of team followers or support base was the team’s strength in forming alliances with prospective partners and attracting sponsors to the team.

Going forward, he said they intended to teach followers to take up responsibility to contribute to the team growth and development beyond cheering and wearing the team regalia.

Pheto said loss of their main financier was untimely and had  taught them to work together as the administrators and supporters to take the team beyond and bridge the gap.

As for club licensing documents were 80 per cent complete while Premier League and Botswana Football Association subscriptions were done, including salaries for the technical team and players were paid off.

“The seven-year consistency that we have with Stanbic Bank speaks volumes. A prospective sponsor or partner who is looking into working with us will appreciate more of what we are capable of when they are in,” he stated.

He said modern football has changed a lot in the football world adding that membership had benefits such as funeral cover as well as insurance policies that came with membership.

The fun filled event was characterised by Culture Spears live band music, children’s face colouring, jumping castle and DJs on the ones and twos. ENDS
