Tents experience leakage
24 Nov 2013
The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso has confirmed that tents that, which provide temporary classrooms and teachers’ accommodation at Legotlhwana Primary School experience leaks during rainy season and are also hot in summer.
She said the leaks were repaired on November 15 but due to budgetary constraints, the council was not able to suggest any other short term solutions to avoid future problems of leakages and the heat.
Ms Tshireletso further said the ministry did not have long term plan for the construction of a fully-fledged primary school in Legotlhwana because the settlement was ungazetted.
She was responding to a question from Ngami MP, Mr Taolo Habano who had asked the minister to if she was aware that tents that had been used to provide temporary classrooms and teachers accommodation at Legotlhwana Primary School experienced leaks during rainy season and were also hot in summer. He further asked the minister to state long term plans for the school. ENDS
