The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development says his ministry is in the process of tendering for construction of 10 housing units at Boiteko Junior School in Ranaka during the financial year 2014/15.
Answering a question in Parliament, Mr Patrick Masimolole said his ministry is aware of shortage of staff accommodation at the school. “Currently the school has a total establishment of 30 teachers, 26 of whom are accommodated in 13 housing units,” he said.
Mr Masimolole said 18 of the teachers are accommodated on sharing basis while four are not sharing. Four out of the remaining eight teachers are housed at the primary school staff houses while the other four teachers are commuting from nearby villages, said the assistant minister.
Mr Kentse Rammidi, MP for Kanye North had asked the minister if he is aware of serious staff accommodation shortage at Boiteko junior school in Ranaka and what the ministry’s plans are to address the situation. Ends
