Botswana Table Tennis Association (BTTA) will host a corporate tournament aimed at promoting table tennis in Botswana at Gaborone West Community Hall on Saturday, November 24.
BTTA assistant publicity secretary, Tiroyaone Motswasele said the tournament’s objectives included popularising table tennis to the public by inviting the private sector, elders and the community to play table tennis. Motswasele said they would also use the event to brand table tennis to corporate world and that they have also invited media.
Furthermore, he said they would use the event to promote healthy living. He pointed out that they would use the ground round robin and then the single knockout systems adding that there were unlimited entries for both men and women singles.
He said only members of the corporate industry were eligible to compete. Motswasele highlighted that individuals or organisations could submit their team list of participants for registration adding that registration process should be strictly directed to the tournament organising committee members.
He stressed that late registration would not be allowed so as to allow tournament organising committee to conclude and finalise on the system of play and to seed athletes onto the tournament ladder in order to allow for early start and early finish of the tournament. ENDS
