Masitaoka seek to fulfil dream

Masitaoka aim to consolidate their promotion push when they clash with Mochudi Buffaloes in the first division south league match at SSG ground on February 2.
The fixture that was scheduled for Molepolole Sports Complex late last year was abandoned because of a clash with a be Mobile Premier League match. Molepolole-based Masitaoka would go into this weekend in fine form. They sit on second place where they trail leaders, Wonder Sporting Club by two points.
They have 15 points from eight wins and two draws. The club’s secretary, Kealogile Ramoroka said they were prepared to intensify their promotion aspirations by beating Buffaloes.
“Our mission this season is to get promoted to the premier league. We harbour that desire every season, but we have built a strong squad that is capable of achieving that goal,” she said in an interview.
Ramoroka said 2012/13 was the season for Masitaoka to finally fulfil the dream of reaching the elite league, seven years after they were promoted to the first division from the Kweneng Regional League in 2005.
“We have rebuilt the team and management tries to keep the players happy, though the club experiences financial difficulties.”
Buffaloes in contrast, have experienced a poor start to the campaign and currently lay on position 10 in the 12-team stream.
They have managed eight points and would be aiming to win on Saturday in order to clear away from the relegation zone. Log leaders, Wonder Sporting Club visit bottom-of-the-log Kanye Swallows in the only other fixture on Saturday.
Both matches start at 3.30pm. ENDS
