Kareng clinic to be electrified
20 Nov 2013
The Ministry of Health is in the process of connecting electricity to Kareng clinic.
Answering a question in Parliament on November 19, health assistant minister, Dr Gloria Somolekae stated that power connection had already been paid for and the contractor had been awarded work to rectify wiring at the facility.
She said the ministry was purchasing rechargeable lamps for all facilities within the Ngami District as a short term measure.
“The plan is to issue these lamps before the end of November 2013,” said the assistant minister. Ngami MP, Mr Taolo Habano had asked the assistant minister if she was aware that Kareng clinic was not connected to electricity.
He also wanted her to state the ministry’s short and long term solutions to the issue of lack of electricity at the clinic. ENDS
