Minister clarifies transport issues in Okavango

Parliament has been informed that nine clinics out of 10 in the Okavango District Health Management Team have vehicles.
Responding to a parliamentary question, the Minister of Health, Dr John Seakgosing stated that the clinics were in Shakawe, Seronga, Sepopa, Xakao, Etsha 6, Nokaneng, Etsha 13, Beetsha, Qangwa and Gumare.
He said the vehicle for Qangwa clinic had been taken for repair and the clinic uses a vehicle from the Okavango DHMT in the interim. He said Gumare clinic had not been provided with a vehicle as transportation was provided for by the hospital which was less than a kilometre away.
The Okavango MP, Mr Bagalatia Arone had wanted the minister to state the number of clinics in the Okavango District Health Management Team, the number of the clinics which had vehicles and the staff compliment in each facility. ENDS
