The referee’s optional time profited Untouchable who rose to the occasion via Gobona Motlhatso’s strike that ensured sharing of spoils with Ginomai in a women’s division two clash at Lekidi East on Saturday.
Untouchable spoiled Ginomai’s party who managed to protect their lead throughout the game following Lame Mmani’s goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately lack of concentration cost Ginomai three valuable points.
Ginomai’s coach, Phillimon Ditshotlo, said in an interview said his players thought they had won, therefore, they relaxed.
He said he was also worried by the fact that the players created a lot of scoring opportunities, but failed to convert them.
“The league is still fresh, there is always a room for improvement, we will not despair because our aim is to gain promotion to division one,” he said.
For his part, Untouchable coach, Boni Mametse, said they drew a game they could have won in the first stanza, adding that he was disappointed by the fact that his players did not utilise their chances.
He said his strikers were not training with the team due to different commitments, hence not performing as they should have.
The coach said he was left with no option but to convert some of the players to strikers so as to fully compete in the league.
Furthermore, he said Ginomai dominated the game.
“Such as any team, we are ambitious, we also want to gain promotion, and that alone means we have to work very hard at training, we still have second round,” he said.
At Lekidi West, Geronah and Viccomates played to a one-all draw. In the afternoon Mazzotie clobbered Police 5-0 at Lekidi West, while Big Sisters whitewashed FC Legends 13-0 at Lekidi East. Ends
