Double Action shock Township Rollers

19 Nov 2013

Double Action, over the weekend, gave their long-time rivals, Township Rollers a 1-0 shock defeat in the women football league game at Bosele Primary School.

Though Rollers fought hard to equalise, it was not an easy task to do because eventually, time was not on their side. Double Action dominated the game, but wasted the scoring opportunities.

Their goal came 20 minutes in the second half by Phatsimo 'Bosto' Bosa after receiving a telling pass from Kitso 'Goshogosho Sheba who initially got a pass from Bonang 'Bebeto Otlhagile.

Township Rollers coach, Victor Tshambane, said they were devastated by the loss to Double Action and they were keen to recover in their next game against Manana.

He attributed the loss to the absence of some of the key players in the likes of Sendelina Katjiwa, Kedibonye Mokalake and Thato Matabati who had just returned from national team camp.

He said whenever the two clubs met, sparks flied, adding that he was optimistic his team would win and make it to the final.

He also said the game started late because there were no referees; the referees complained that they were not paid their dues in the last season. Tshambane said the coming weekend would have a tough game but they were ready for the challenge, which would be their third game since the start of the league. Double Action coach, Agreement Podi, was not immediately available for comment. ENDS
