Some internal roads in Ga-Kebuang ward in Kanye are in a bad state due to the rocky terrain which makes grading difficult and expensive.

Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso told Parliament that the ministry, through Southern District Council, was using in-house maintenance teams to construct a 100m road using interlocking bricks in Ga-Kebuang ward.

She said before the end of the financial year, the council would also undertake the in-house maintenance of 15km of the road in the same ward using spot improvement method.

Kanye North MP, Mr Kentse Rammidi, had asked the aassistant minister whether the ministry was aware of the bad state of roads at Ga-Kebuang ward in Kanye. He also wanted to know what plans were in place to address the situation. Ends
