Measures are in place to facilitate provision of staff accommodation and transport for Botswana Police Service (BPS) officers at Tewane village.

Responding to a parliamentary question, the Minister of Defence and Security Mr Kagiso Mmusi said shortage of staff accommodation had been mitigated through rental of private accommodation paid for by the BPS while transport issues were addressed through provision of transport from Mahalapye Central Police Station and Radisele Police Post as and when the need arose.

Mr Mmusi said construction of the police post planned for implementation during the 2017-2018 financial year did not materialise due to budgetary constraints.

Mahalapye West MP, Mr David Tshere had asked the minister to state when Tewane Police Post would be facilitated with office and staff accommodation as well as transport. ENDS
