116 graduate under RADP

A total of 116 Basarwa children have graduated from different institutions since the inception of Remote Area Development Programme, Parliament has been informed.

Responding to a question in Parliament, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso noted that 40 children graduated from Teacher Training Institutions, 22 from Institute of Health Sciences, 18 from Botswana College of Agriculture and 36 from the University of Botswana.

Ms Tshireletso said the116 children were from six of the seven districts with remote area settlements. Eight children were from Kgalagadi, four from Kweneng, eight from Southern, 18 from Ghanzi, 69 from Central and 9 from the North West. 

There had been no graduates from Kgatleng District to date.  Okavango MP, Mr Bagalatia Arone had wanted to know how many Basarwa children had graduated from the said institutions since the inception of RADP. Ends
