Ministry not aware of pensioners problem in Francistown
13 Nov 2013
The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development does not have any knowledge of pensioners in Francistown sometimes going for months without their pension and later being made to forfeit their dues.
This was explained by the assistant minister, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso, in response to a question in Parliament . “However, I am aware that some beneficiaries delay in filling their life declaration certificates on time and skip some months until such time that they are able to fill the declaration certificates and they are subsequently reimbursed their arrears,” she said.
Mr Wynter Mmolotsi, the Francistown South MP, had enquired whether the ministry was aware that pensioners in Francistown sometimes went for months without their pension. Ends
