Assemblies of God Serowe branch has laid the first brick towards construction of a bigger church building, a move applauded by Mr Sethabelo Modukanele.

 The local government and rural development assistant minister said government took great pleasure in seeing churches do their level best to develop the nation.

Mr Modukanele said on Saturday that government valued churches and his ministry, being responsible for social protection, took pride in churches such as Assemblies of God for playing a pivotal role in looking after the disadvantaged members of society.

He said churches in Botswana aided peace and tranquility and contributed to nation building.

The church’s Prophet Nonde Chishimba said the Lord had blessed Serowe assembly with great leaders whose dreams for the church were beyond personaGrounl interests.Prophet Chishimba said the current church was refurbished to remarkable standards and was a place that one would love to be for church service all the time.

The prophet said he was thankful to God for the men and women who laid the foundation and consequently built the church they were currently worshipping from.

The current crop of believers were compelled to build a church for the present and future generations of believers in Serowe, he said. Prophet Chishimba said the Serowe assembly’s dream was to complete the project in two years time. Ends
