President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has praised the late Mr Phenyo Nthase for being an ambitious and visionary farmer who was keen in employing cattle breeding technologies.

President Masisi was speaking during an appreciation tour of Mr Nthase’s farm after the launch of the revised artificial insemination programme recently.

He applauded Mr Nthase for the legacy he left behind.

Therefore, the President urged Mr Nthase’s children to continue and further grow what their father was passionately doing; artificial insemination.

One of the associates, Mr Thebe Setlalekgosi said Mr Nthase was a passionate cattle breeder who ventured into stud breeding in the late 90s.He noted that in 2011, they had their first bull auction sale, a brain child of Mr Nthase.

Mr Setlalekgosi added that the inaugural auction sale made over P2 million from 65 bulls.

Mr Setlalekgosi also hailed the late Nthase for starting the Mookane Farmers Day where he was the chairperson.

Mr Nthase was also said to have been a keen Brahman farmer who at the time of his demise was working to form Brahman Association Botswana. ENDS
