Motlakase defeat Satmos
11 Nov 2013
The on-form Selebi Phikwe side, FC Satmos succumbed to Motlakase Power Dynamos by 2-3 on November 9.
The game started on a low note with both sides cautious when going forward and it was Motlakase who opened the scoring sheet in the first few minutes through a Mollen Mabe strike after Satmos defence failed to clear the ball in the area.
Then Olebogeng Malebye increased the tally to two after another blunder by Satmos defence who were indecisive, letting Malebye pounce on a loose ball in the area. In the middle of the park, Malepa Bolelang’s experience came in-handy as he dictated matters, spreading well executed passes all over the field.
Midway through the first half, Oris Radipotsane’s boys increased the tally to three through Oteng Oganne who once again took advantage of Satmos’s failure to clear their lines after a corner kick.
Satmos pulled one back minutes before the half time break after Motlakase goal minder failed to deal adequately with Mcgini Sibanda’s shot and Kediemetse Radikoko made no mistake slamming a fierce shot from the rebound. In the second stanza, Satmos came back a much improved side, making sure that they put their opponents in the back foot for most of the time.
Sensing trouble, Radipotsane introduced Jomo Bolofete for the less experienced Lerato Botshelo who was being dispossessed easily and the change was a well thought decision as Jomo and Bolelang combined well to ease pressure from their opponents. Late in the second half, Satmos’s hard work was rewarded as they pulled another goal back thanks to Patrick Kaunda.
The winning coach, Radipotsane, said he was not impressed by his charges’ performance even though they got the maximum points. He said the positive thing about his charges was that they were taking instructions well and he hoped that in the next game they will be a much improved side.
Meanwhile, China Mading decried lack of seriousness from his side, describing their approach to the game as casual hence the loss. He said during the half time break, he asked the players to change the attitude and that is why they seemed like a better side in the second stanza. Ends
