Land ownership transfer hassle free

Applications for transfer of land ownership to the remaining spouses are processed without any difficulty for as long as all necessary documentation from relatives and bogosi is available.
This was stated by Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Nonofo Molefhi who was responding to a question on behalf of the Minister of Lands and Housing, in Parliament. He said the lands and housing ministry was not aware of any widows facing difficulties in inheriting their late husbands’ plots.
Okavango MP, Mr Bagalatia Arone had wanted to know why spouses, especially widows, faced difficulties in inheriting land previously registered and owned by their late husbands in view of the fact that most Batswana marry in community of property. Ends
