Balotlhanyi Johannes and Ontlametse Gaonyadiwe netted Double Action’s two goals while the third came via Golebaone Selebatso’s own goal.

The game, played at Lekidi Football Centre on Saturday, started at a high tempo with a spree of attacks from both sides.

GU grabbed the first scoring opportunity in the early minutes, but Kelebogile Magaga squandered the chance.

In the 20th minute, Double Action launched an attack and Johannes taught GU players a lesson on how to score goals sending her side’s first past the keeper.

However, the goal did not dampen Moyagoleele’s spirit as they surged forward looking for an equaliser, but luck was not on their side as Double Action keeper, Bame Mokime denied them a goal.

In the 35th minute, Ontlametse punished GU after a defensive error netting a second for Double Action.

After recess, Double Action continued with their dominance but it would seem GU’s new signee Lone Gaofetoge was on guard and managed to intercept a lot of their opponent’s good runs.

However, in the 79th minute, GU’s Selebatso mistake inside the box saw her score an own goal to increase Double Action’s goals to three.

“We lost a game which we were supposed to win but we give credit to Double Action as they utilised their chances well and won the game,” GU coach, Mompoloki Nthobatsang said in a post-match interview.

Nthobatsang said he was nonetheless happy that they managed to identify their flaws in a pre-season tournament and would work hard to rectify them.

“We are still building a team and we managed to lure other players to beef up our squad, so we are still in the process,” he added.

Double Action coach, Kago Konege, said he was happy that the players executed the game plan well, which was to subject GU to pressure in the first stanza.

On one hand, Konege said they did not play their usual style as they had brought in new editions and trying new combinations.

“From here our assignment is to ensure that the new signees adopt our style of play because our culture is to keep possession,” he said.
