13 beneficiaries still to receive packages

10 Nov 2013

Thirteen beneficiaries of Diphuduhudu Poverty Eradication workshop from Leologane and Kweneng have not received their packages due to various reasons.

Answering a question in Parliament, the Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Gaotlhaetse Matlhabaphiri said three backyard gardens were still to be connected with water and planting, while five beneficiaries changed their minds from the original packages they had selected to small stock.

Mr Matlhabaphiri further said one beneficiary missed the scheduled training for tree nursery, while four had been trained and were waiting for materials for their projects.

He said his ministry was working with implementing ministries to address various project implementation bottlenecks as they arise to reduce delays. Mr Matlhabaphiri was responding to questions from Kweneng East MP, Major General Moeng Pheto who had asked if the minister was aware that applicants from Diphuduhudu Poverty Eradication workshop from Kweneng and Leologane have not yet benefitted from the various packages they applied for.

He also wanted to know why some people, whose applications were approved in November 2012, were not yet assisted. Ends
