Over 15 000 await SHHA plots in Francistown
10 Nov 2013
Allocation of plots to more than 15 000 applicants on the Self Help Housing Agency (SHHA) waiting list in the city of Francistown is dependent on the availability of serviced land.
The Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Nonofo Molefhi told Parliament on behalf of lands and housing minister that due to limited financial resources, government had not been able to service land and match the ever growing demand for land.
He said plans for future land servicing included engagement of the private sector to service land, adding that hopefully, this would avail land to be allocated to various applicants including those on the SHHA waiting list.
He was answering a question from Francistown South MP, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi who wanted to know what plans there were to expedite allocation of plots to more than 15 000 applicants in SHHA waiting list at Francistown.Ends
