Ramotswa derby ends in all draw

The Debswana First Division South log leaders, Letlapeng bagged a point home after playing to a goalless against their rivals Killer Giants on November 9.

The Ramotswa derby was played at Siga grounds. Killer Giants looked more creative on the ball in the first half but that was only limited to ball possession.

Sebatana failed to pose a threat to Letlapeng, except for two free headers from corner kicks which were however went above the crossbar and failed to threaten Letlapeng keeper Kakanyetso Dipholo. In the second half, Letlapeng appeared to be the better side after opting for a passing game but still lacked the firepower to threaten their rivals.

Letlapeng who are currently leading the log only came close to scoring when Thabang Dira misfired from a close range after a cross from Sadat Sinare deep in the second half. Subsequently, both teams tried going for a quick passing football with none of them getting the better of their opponents.

In an interview, Killer Giants coach, Rolland Dlamini said he was satisfied with his team’s performance, adding a draw matched the day’s performance from each side. “This is a game that could have been won by either side, but I must congratulate Letlapeng they gave us a good match,” he added.

Dlamini, who is assisted by former Extension Gunners great Tumie Duiker, said he was never worried about conceding during the game because there were limited chances created. On the other hand, Letlapeng coach Thaloba Nthaga also conceded that the result suited the performance of the two teams.

However, he said though his side had improved from its previous games, they did not did not create chances. “We did not create scoring chances, we were not hungry when going forward,” he added. He was also not disappointed with the outcome arguing that they will lose, draw and win some games in their quest for promotion to the elite league.

In other games played on Saturday, Rolling Boys lost 2-1 to Ghanzi Terrors, Modipane United were also beaten 2-0 by Mogoditshane Fighters while Masitaoka thrashed Mochudi Buffalos with a two-nil score line. Ends
