Zebras out of CHAN 2023

Zebras' Gape Thibedi (right) taking on Madagascar goalkeeper, Razakanirina Rakotohasimbola during the first leg of the African Championships qualifiers. The Zebras have failed to qualify for the CHAN 2023 after playing to a one-all draw with Madagascar in the second leg on Friday. They had on August 27 suffered a 1-0 loss to Madagascar, which has now qualified to the group stage. Coach Mogomotsi Mpote said the focus was now on Under 23 African Championship and AFCON respectively, adding that the good thing was that the team still had an ample time to prepare for the two continental competitions.
