UCCSA raises funds for institutions

United Congregational Church of Southern Africa (UCCSA) has played a pivotal role in uplifting the lives of many people especially the education sector.
This was said by the UCCSA Botswana Branch chairperson, Reverend Mompati Aaron at the 10 km Heritage Walk fundraising event organised by the Moshupa UCCSA Branch.
The event held under the theme, “our heritage, our pride, our inspiration,” aim was to raise funds to assist UCCSA funded schools and projects.
The institutions include Maun Secondary School, Moeding College in Otse, Lephoi Centre for the Blind in Francistown and Kgodisong Centre in Kanye.
Rev Aaron said the church had not been providing full support to the mentioned institutions operations of hence the move to provide assistance.
Rev. Aaron therefore commended the church for resuscitating its fundraising initiatives so as to assist those institutions. “Let me commend this congregation for their committed efforts in ensuring that they are available as partners towards uplifting the lives of others,” he said. He said it was befitting for UCCSA congregants to acknowledge and be thankful for what they had achieved as well as celebrating the founders of the church for their legacy they left for
“We have started to celebrate our wealth that we possess as UCCSA, we should forever celebrate with the realisation that those assets require comtinous maintenance,” he said.
For her part, Reverend Marang Gaobewe of Moshupa UCCSA Branch, said the aim of the Heritage Walk was to raise funds to assist their funded schools and hospitals.
She said, the walk was part of the nationwide UCCSA synod appeal, where all respective regions were expected to contribute towards the walk, for consolidation towards assisting the nation.
“Our desire is to further assist and provide a relief to our founded school and hospitals so that we can have a significant involvement as founders of those institutions,” he said.
She said the church aimed to further solicit support from different sectors of the church, government departments, communities, private sector and development partners so that they could ultimately assist efficiently.
“Our centres are struggling financially, our aim is to ensure that we assist them so that they can be able to run effectively and efficiently,” she said.
The church managed to secure P11 163 donations during the event. ends
