Schools receive photocopying printing machines

A photocopier or multi-function printer remains one of the most important devices for schools daily operations.
It was against such a background that two primary schools in Moshupa; Kebonyekgotla and Mosielele recently received two photocopying and printing machines worth over P31 990, courtesy of Stefanutti Stocks.
Receiving the donations on behalf of the two schools, area Member of Parliament, Mr Karabo Gare expressed hope that the machines would have a huge impact in improving academic performance and results.
Mr Gare said schools had a mandate to mould and educate learners for them to become responsible future leaders who would take Botswana to greater heights.
He, therefore, urged the schools’ management to put the machines to good use and share them with other schools, saying the idea was for all learners in the area to benefit from such services.
“We would have liked for all schools to receive these donations, but we were only assisted with two.”
The MP regretted that teachers had been using their vehicles to access printing and photocopying services from different establishments, some of which he said were not insured.
He thanked Stefanutti Stocks for their generosity, noting that COVID-19 had negatively affected all sectors of the economy, but the company saw it fit to assist under such circumstances.
For her part, Stefanutti Stocks director, Ms Thembi Gaetwesepe said their gesture was a response to a call by Mr Gare on lack of printing and photocopying equipment in the area.
“The MP had approached us and asked for assistance and we agreed, considering that we will be giving back to the community and playing part in grooming future leaders,” she said.
Moshupa Sub-district Council chairperson, Mr Peter Sethibe thanked MP Gare and Stefanutti Stocks for the donation, particularly that the council did not have funds to purchase the machines.
Mr Sethibe was also happy that the machines would not only benefit the two schools, but others that may need printing and photocopying services.
“Lack of such services has been a barrier in attaining the desired results.
So I believe the schools results in the area will improve,” he said.
On behalf of the two beneficiaries, Mosielele Primary School head, Mr Thatayaone Sefiwa said the machines were a motivation for the schools to work hard and aim to reach or even exceed the region’s target of 80 per cent pass rate.
“We are hopeful that these machines will assist us to address some of the challenges we have been faced with, which had been an obstacle in attaining desired results.
We ought to ensure that our results improve to show that the machines had been put to good use,” Mr Sethibe said. ENDS
