State president ministry receives gifts for needy

Mogoditshane-based Eagles Nest Church (ENC) has donated five wheelchairs, blankets and food hampers to Ministry for State President for the needy.
Presenting the donation in Gaborone yesterday, church founder Prophet Mooketsi Lesole said it was part of ENC’s efforts aimed at promoting human and social development.
The donation was also in response to President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi’s calls for the church, private sector and non-governmental organisations to help the less privileged members of society, he said.
Prophet Lesole said the church, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, had helped to restore families through preaching the gospel, counselling and guidance.
He said ENC’s mission was aligned to the country’s vision 2036 pillar of human and social development.
Prophet Lesole commended President Masisi’s administration for its leadership during the difficult COVID-19 period.
Although the country faced numerous socio-economic challenges, the President prioritised giving Batswana quality life, he said.
For his part, acting permanent secretary, Mr Jacob Momene, who was standing in for Minister Kabo Morwaeng, said the donation would assist in addressing the growing need for wheelchairs.
“It will also be a motivation to our nation’s commitment towards dignity for all in line with ideals of the nation’s vision of ensuring inclusivity,” he said.
Mr Momene said government, through existing programmes, sought long-standing partnerships with the private sector and non-governmental organisations to help improve the lives of Batswana.
He said government wished that non-state actors could participate in empowering fellow Batswana.
Mr Momene said the donation would benefit deserving members of society. Ends
