Marulamantsi Primary School nears completion

Construction of a primary school at Gaborone’s  Marulamantsi location, undertaken through the Economic Recovery and Transformation Reform Programme, is expected to be completed by the end of the year. 

Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Sethabelo Modukanele said the P73-million project entailed 22 staff houses, 22 classrooms, administration block, kitchen, resource centre, library, two double storey toilet blocks and a guard house. 

“The total cost of the project is P73 893 710, consisting of P23 616 525 for staff houses and P50 277 185 for other educational facilities. 

Construction of staff houses is expected to be completed by December 30 while other educational facilities are planned for completion on November 29,” he said. 

Mr Modukanele noted that the construction of the project had generated 125 jobs for locals, 26 of which were from Gaborone Bonnington South constituency. 

Gaborone Bonnington South MP, Mr Christian Greeff had asked the minister to apprise Parliament on the status of the Phase 4 (Marulamantsi) Primary School project, and state its cost, its completion date and the number of Gaborone Bonnington South residents employed in the project. Ends
