Gaborone’s Sidilega Private Hospital has been applauded for offering Mochudi residents medical screening free of charge.
MP for Mochudi East, Mr Mabuse Pule praised the hospital for its health outreach campaign over the weekend saying the initiative was a welcome development.
It was very helpful to members of the community, he said.
Mr Pule, who is also assistant minister of Local Government and Rural Development, thanked members of the community for heeding the hospital’s call and attending in large numbers.
The hospital’s public relations officer, Mr Kagiso Keitseope explained that the purpose of the campaign was to raise awareness on non-communicable diseases and to encourage healthy lifestyles.
“Our healthy living initiative encompasses free health screenings and is aimed at helping Batswana to focus on their health and knowing their health status,” he said.
Mr Keitseope said the campaign targeted communities across the country with a number of specialists including a pulmonologist, interventional cardiologist, ophthalmologist as well as an ear, nose and throat specialist.
A resident, Mr Mpho Koboyatshwene expressed gratitude to the hospital for bringing medical assistance to the community.
He encouraged fellow residents to make going for routine health check-ups a habit to enable early detection of ailments and timely medical assistance. Ends
