Shortage of nurses hinders clinic upgrade

10 Aug 2022

There are no immediate plans to upgrade the Khudumelapye Clinic to a 24-hour facility owing to shortage of nurses countrywide.

However, Assistant Minister of Health, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe said the clinic would be considered for upgrading in future, alongside other health facilities. He said the Khudumelapye Clinic, which recorded an average of 300-400 patients monthly, was serviced through the call arrangement outside operating hours.

He noted that Khudumelapye was 21km away from a bigger health facility in Letlhakeng. Takatokwane MP, Mr Tshoganetso Leuwe had asked if there were plans to upgrade the Khudumelapye Clinic to a 24-hour facility. ENDs
