Scotch Ngozi Pesela advance to semi-finals

Three Botswana 400m runners, Leungo Scotch, Zibani Ngozi and Anthony Pesela have qualified for the semi-finals at the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham.
Scotch, who was in heat two, finished in position two with a time of 45.75 while Ngozi settled for first position in heat six in 46.43 and Pesela finished in position two with a time of 46.55 in heat seven.
400m women, Lydia Jele, who was in heat three finished fourth in 53.24s and qualified for semi-finals as the fastest loser while Christine Botlogetswe failed to proceed to the next round after clocking 54.60 in heat four.
In the men’s 800m, Boitumelo Masilo marched to the finals after finishing on second position with a time of 1:47.30 while his counterpart Tshepiso Masalela finished fifth with 1:49.12 and did not qualify for the next stage. ENDS
