The number of people on the waiting list for Self Help Housing Agency (SHHA) plots allocation in the city of Francistown was 12 763 as  July 21.

Assistant minister of Local Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Sethabelo Modukanele said the last allocation targeted 150 residential plots at Gerald Estates. He, however, said only 129 plots were allocated in June 2022.

“Allocation of the remaining 21 plots is awaiting resolution of the fulfilment of the requirements of stateland integrated management systems by applicants such as proof of ability to purchase and develop the plot,” said the assistant minister.

Francistown South MP, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi had asked the minister to state the number of people on the waiting list for SHHA plots allocation in the city of Francistown, and when the last allocation was done.

He also wanted to know the  number of  people allocated plots. ENDS
