Taung Village Development Committee with the help of a local sand and building materials company Francoal has donated two toilets to the needy Tuesday July 26.

Former VDC secretary, Ms Rosemary Sebetso said the committee decided to build toilets for the destitute persons after assessing their needs. 

She said they opted to build toilets for them because hygiene was the most important aspect of health and having a proper toilet was the start of one’s hygiene and better health.

The director of Francoal Company, Mr Frankline Nguru said they took part in this initiative by supplying the VDC with building materials.

He said they had previously undertaken initiatives such as this one and had worked with some schools such as Centre for the Deaf and Baitlotli Junior Secondary School by supplying them with building materials.

Mr Nguru said their company, which was established in 2012, had been helping people whenever they could. 

He was thankful for VDC for engaging them in different projects in the community.

Mr Nguru applauded the spirit of philanthropy and encouraged the donation initiatives to continue.  

He pledged his company’s support for VDC projects geared toward helping the people of Taung.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Masilo Matsake said they were thankful for the donation as having toilets would lift their spirits. 

He said blessed was the hand that gives, adding that even the recipients were blessed to have experienced such generosity. Ends
