On 12 July 2022, there were 6 707 graduates on the intern waiting list, says Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Ms Anna Mokgethi.

She said their areas of study included computing (101), architecture and buildings (232), transport services (274), life sciences (189), physical sciences (358), engineering and manufacturing (852), health and wealth (710), agriculture (415), education programmes (301), social and behavioural sciences (488), security services programmes (48), business administration programmes (1 626) and humanities and arts (1 113).

She noted that the standard for placement of interns was 30 calendar days for applicants who met the requests of host organisations.

The MP for Francistown South, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi had asked the minister to state the number of graduates per programme of study awaiting placement as interns, and how long it took for one to be placed. Ends
