VP commiserates with Kaboeamodimo family

06 Jul 2022

Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane joined mourners in Kanye, Tuesday to commiserate with the Kaboeamodimo family.

His visit followed the death of Mr Ketumile Kaboeamodimo last Wednesday, following a long illness.

The VP paid tribute to Mr Kaboeamodimo, a staunch Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) member, who served the party as a councillor for a long time. He said Mr Kaboeamodimo was an honest man who would not waiver even if it meant a fall-out with others.

The Vice President said Mr Kaboeamodimo never led the BDP or the nation astray, something that other Batswana should emulate.“He was the light and peace of the nation and it is upon us to continue his legacy,” he said. He wished the family well and encouraged them to trust in God. “We are saddened to learn about his death, but let us put our trust in God,” said Mr Tsogwane.

According to the deceased’s sister Ms Onalenna Kaboeamodimo, her brother had not been well since 2019, with his ill-health worsening towards mid-June this year.

Her brother, Mr Boikhutso Kaboeamodimo thanked the Vice President for the visit and said his presence was comfort to the family. He wished Mr Tsogwane and other leaders well.

The VP’s visit comes only two days after President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi went to commiserate with the family.

The BDP and the family will hold a memorial service in honour of Mr Kaboeamodimo on Thursday at Mmatshitswane Ward in Kanye. He will be laid to rest Saturday. ENDS
