Giving way to express true love- Kwape

Giving does not only equip the needy, but is also a true expression of our respect for them, Kanye South MP Dr Lemogang Kwape said Friday.
Dr Kwape was the guest of honor at a handover of two water taps that Kgwatlheng Village Development Committee donated to two families.
“This initiative is indeed indicative of the love and care for one another. It reflects the respect that we possess for each other, and the true meaning of Biblical love where we’re exhorted to love the other person as much as we love ourselves,” he said.
He applauded the committee for its foresightedness in tackling challenges facing their own.
The VDC was, in fact, a leader in its own right, he said.
“As a community leader expectation is that we bring developments to our people, but having a committee such as this one pleases me, as it is evident that we are complimenting each other,” he said.
Dr Kwape added the taps would go a long way in improving the lives of the beneficiaries, Mses Emma Mmopa and Mmannana Mothibi, especially in the current hardship of COVID-19 pandemic.
He advised the two women to take proper care of the taps and pay their water bills to avoid getting disconnected.
Giving an update of other development issues in the ward, Dr Kwape said the road to the kgotla would be paved next year through the constituency fund.
The request by residents for installation of tower lights at the kgotla, had been submitted to council, he said. Kanye Administration Authority, Deputy Chairperson, Mr Sebati Kabomo also commended the committee for its noble gesture.
“Blessed is the hand that gives than the one that takes. For that you will receive more grace from the Lord,” he said.
He reminded the beneficiaries that they were selected ahead of other equally needy people, and should therefore take care of the taps.
“The VDC is assisting the entire population in the village. Consider yourselves fortunate, as there are other people who are also in need of this type of assistance,” he said.
The VDC’s Ms Tebo Tlhapi said they used committee funds to install the taps, after seeking Social and Development Committee approval.
She said the initiative was borne of the realisation water was critical to fighting COVID-19. Ends
