Black Peril register victory

Black Peril clinched a one goal victory over visiting Masitaoka in a Debswana First Division South game played at Wonder Sporting grounds on Saturday.
Both teams started the game cautiously although Black Peril had an upper hand constantly knocking on Ofentse Mokgosi’s goal posts.
However, they failed to find the killer punch as they seemed clueless when they were in the last third resulting with Masitaoka defence clearing the danger with ease.
Jones Molwantwa played with a golden opportunity after receiving a pass in the penalty box and with only the goalkeeper to beat, he ballooned the ball over the bar attracting wrath from his coach and supporters.
Mokgosi had problems dealing with crosses as most of the times he punched them into play but fortunately for him and his teammates, the opponents failed to take advantage of the rebounds.
At the other end, Masitaoka had numerous opportunities but they could not unblock Black Peril’s defence. Their strategy of playing long balls into the penalty area did not work for them as the taller Black Peril defence easily dealt with them.
They failed to come up with a plan to beat Black Peril offside traps. Black Peril’s Kabelo Mokgosi thought he had put his side ahead but was ruled off side and the two teams went into recess goalless.
In the second half the two teams upped their game, but Masitaoka, who are in the dreaded relegation zone, were left chasing the shadows of their opponents as they could not control the midfield.
Nsuka Pansu eventually gave his side the important three points after Ofentse failed to handle a shot from Molwantwa. Black Peril nearly went up two goals after they caught Masitaoka on counter attack but Pansu was not able to connect with a cross from Molwantwa enabling Masitaoka to clear the ball.
Tensions started to emerge from both sides due to five extra minutes with Black Peril bench constantly calling for the referee to end the game while at the other end, Masitaoka hoped for an equaliser although their efforts never troubled goalkeeper Lone Raseboko.
The final whistle brought relief to Black Peril supporters while pressure mounted on Masitaoka who are currently finding it difficult to keep pace with the rest of the teams. Ends
