Tawana Land Board making strides in land allocation

Tawana Land Board is currently assessing the tender for business plots which were advertised in March this year. North West District Council chairperson, Mr Kebareeditse Ntsogotho said this at the ongoing full council sitting on Wednesday. 

He said the plots would be allocated in September this year. Moreover, he said the Tawana Land Board has 2 970 planned plots for Agricultural purposes which would be surveyed during the first quarter of the financial year 2022/2023. 

Councilor Ntsogotho said the ploughing fields were located at Chanoga with 208 fields, Bodibeng 138, Bothatogo 78, Etsha 6 with 232 and Xhaoga with 731 fields. In addition, there were 655 fields in Gumare, 663 in Sepopa, 70 in Habu and 195 in Ikoga.  The chairperson mentioned that in the last financial year, the Land Board had planned to allocate 5 652 residential plots, but only managed to allocate 2 760 plots, while the rest were carried forward to the current financial year. 

Councilor Ntsogotho said Tawana Land Board currently had 9 428 residential plots ready for allocation. In Sexaxa, there were 2 469 residential plots, Matlapana 1 261, Matsaudi 999, Chanoga 664, Makalamabedi 580, Komana 165, Gumare 715, Etsha 6 - 422, Tsodilo 87, Shakawe 1 580, Ngarange 249, Beetsha 237 and 422 plots are found in Etsha 6. 

Furthermore, he indicated that the Land Board had surveyed 5 020 plots and submitted them for approval to the Director of Surveys and Mapping, with 1 153 plots in Makalamabedi, 1 099 in Komana , Sehithwa with 1 027, 213 in Kauxwi/Kaputura and 1 528 plots in Chanoga Tawana Land Board, he said had planned to survey 4 122 newly approved layouts for Nokaneng Gumare, Seronga, Sehithwa, Mohembo West, Tobera and Qangwa. 

The council chairperson said that North West District planned availing land in Shakawe, measuring 75.524 hectares for layouts preparation as part of the development plan.

He added that a total of 104 hectares for fields would be secured as layout for 1 415 plots in Seronga. ends
