Government should ensure fair allocation of resources to all schools across the country, Member of Parliament for Okavango Mr Kenny Kapinga made the remarks when visiting Shaikarawe satellite school on Wednesday.
He expressed concern about the satellite school that has classrooms built from reeds. He therefore appealed to government to ensure that all schools had classrooms with modern structures.
Nonetheless Mr Kapinga was impressed by the school’s performance despite challenges of classrooms. One of the classes received an award for best performing at the recent teacher’s day celebrations.
Shaikarawe satellite school has pre-school classes up to standard three and hopes to expand and have classes up to standard seven in the near future.
Addressing Shaikarawe residents, the MP urged parents to be committed to their children’s education, observing that education was crucial because with it they might get jobs and change the lives of their families for the better. He noted that with education, they were also better placed to find opportunities outside the country.
