Tibi ascends Ghanzi District Council chairperson seat

Morama Ward councillor, Mr Jeremiah Tibi was on Wednesday elected Ghanzi District Council new chairperson.
Councillor Tibi garnered 15 votes against 10 votes of Xukuri Xukuri to assume the chairperson’s roles, while Mr Ezekiel Kajuu retained the deputy chairperson position, beating Mr Ofentse Moapare with 15 votes against 10.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Tibi said though he was yet to unveil his road map, some of his key priorities included service delivery and accelerated project implementation coupled with team work and the value of Botho.
He said he would tap into the experience and wisdom of his predecessor, Mr Thato Tshweneyagae as he had laid a strong foundation for him.
Meanwhile, Ghanzi East Sub Council elected, Mr Modise Madumane as chairperson and Ms Sethunya Ramoswaana as deputy.
Mr Moapare who was deputy chairperson for Charleshill Sub council was elected to chairperson in the same sub council and Mr Kapenerua Kandjise was elected as his deputy.
