Upgrading Tshesebe- Mosojane-Masunga main road and other access roads to bitumen standard will positively impact the economy of the region.
The road will expedite and enhance service delivery, draw businesses to setup in the villages, enhance infrastructure development and create employment during construction phase.
In an interview the Department of Roads chief engineer, Mr Prince Moalosi said the project had been budgeted at for at just over P355 million.
Mr Moalosi said the project commenced October 2021 and completion date was June next year.
He indicated that the plan entailed construction of a 22.5km main road connecting Tshesebe, Mosojane and Masunga including access roads leading to the village centres. The project also includes access roads from Mosojane to Masukwane, Pole, Mulambakwena, Letsholathebe and Kgari accounting for 28.7 to make a total of 51.2km.
Mr Moalosi noted that the project included three bridges along the main road as well 42 culverts as well as 58 culverts that would be constructed along access roads from the main road leading to villages in the area.
The project has employed 232 out of whom 15 are expatriates. Ends
