02 Jun 2022
Kgatleng District councillors have unanimously endorsed Councillor Daniel Molokwe of Rasesa as council chairperson and Councillor Modise Ncube of Matebeleng as his deputy.
The duo, who are retaining the positions, stood for elections unopposed, following their nominations during a special full council meeting in Mochudi yesterday.
When accepting endorsement, Mr Molokwe thanked members for entrusting him with the responsibility to continue leading the council.
He implored them to introspect as to what the council had so far achieved as their five-year tenure was coming to an end.
Mr Molokwe said the council had suffered major setbacks and shocks imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the vacant position of the council secretary that took long to be filled.
He implored KDC authorities to improve the ease of doing business to broaden business scope within the district.
In that regard, he stated that he was hopeful that the moratorium on land use change that was imposed by the land board and the council was coming to an end, hence the business community would grow their businesses.
He said KDC remained resolute to improve service delivery and good customer service.
Councillors also voted for council committees among them Finance, Education and Social Services, Health, Safety and Wellness, Infrastructure and Housing as well as Performance and Monitoring. ENDS
