The Swaneng Hill School class of 1983 alumni has donated books to their former school, which include revision material worth over P10 000.
Receiving the books, the acting school head, Mr Tlamelo Kereeditse commended the former pupils for donating the books.

He said the books would assist pupils to improve their results, which had been poor.
Mr Kereeditse praised the class of 83 for ploughing back into the school.

‘You will be remembered for doing something good in assisting your younger brothers and sisters who are still at Swaneng,’’ he said.
He appealed to other former pupils to also donate to the school in order to improve results.
Handing over the donation, the chairperson of the class of 83, Ms Goabelwa Dithithologo said they donated s to assist the school because they were successful as a result of the education they received at the school.

She noted that they formed a Facebook group in 2015 and that they started brainstorming on how they could assist the school as they were concerned about the poor results. She also said they had been visiting the school regularly to assist pupils in their studies, noting that the donation  was their third to the school.

Ms Dithithologo said they were concerned that pupils were not taking their studies seriously and that they seldom revised outside school.
She observed that the learners  spent too much time idling at shopping malls. She said the school used to perform better during their time.

Giving a vote of thanks, Serowe Sub-region principal education officer, Ms Selabe Maanaesi thanked the donors for assisting  the school and that they hoped for better results.
She also noted that the class of 83 had previously donated eight scanners and four binders to the school. She appealed to them to continue with the spirit of assisting the school in order to improve school results. ENDS
