26 May 2022

With the launch of E-sizze self service kiosk digital contact centre, Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) hopes to reduce queues at its service centres as the kiosk offers customers self-service at their own convenience.

E-sizze means help yourself.

Launching the initiative in Gaborone on Wednesday, WUC chief executive officer, Mr Gaselemogwe Senai said technology was key in good service delivery and digitisation of WUC in as far as operational excellence, customer focus, service demand and delivery were concerned.

“We will also see improvement and maintenance of our service quality standards throughout the entire water supply value chain, from extraction, treatment, storage and distribution of water to households,” he said.

Mr  Senai said the notable change was operational excellence which involved removal of inefficiencies for better and integrated working environment, thereby reducing costs and promoting information and skills sharing which ultimately led to better quality and customer management processes.

“At the centre of everything is the customer, whom we owe our existence to. So, as a corporation we have taken a deliberate approach to put the customer at the centre of all we do to realign the corporation towards serving customers better,” stated Mr Senai. A customer, Ms Adeline More appreciated the new initiative, saying as it would result in speedy customer service.

Ms More said she started using the application in 2016 and had never set foot at WUC offices to pay water bills except when she needed to connect water after relocating. ends
