Duo launches Team BK

Team BK, which assists the underprivileged, has been commended for being compassionate.

 Tatisiding’s Kgosi Simon Nkgageng told guests at Sunday’s launch of Team BK, that the organisation was a true testimony of a group of people much concerned with one another’s lives and other Batswana.

  According to Team BK founders, Mr Boikobo Galeitsiwe and wife Bokani the organisation’s objective was to assist team members and the needy.

 Assistance offered includes building materials, farming, groceries and birthday celebrations. 

Ms Galeitsiwe of Senyawe in the North East District said the team had donated to many underprivileged members of  society and was committed to assist government improve the living standard of Batswana. 

The organisation, she said,  was  trying to heed President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi’s call for other players to join hands with government in assisting the needy.

Ms Galeitsiwe explained that the organisation was founded on the basis of fostering a compassionate, just and caring society.

 The intention was to give team members, and the community as a whole, dignity, she said.

 Ms Galeitsiwe said the organisation’s mandate was in line with Vision 2036 ideals which defines prosperity in terms of inclusiveness. 

Apart from its core business, she said, Team BK was also involved in motshelo, a traditional funding scheme whereby each member contributed an agreed amount which was then loaned to members on a rotational basis. 

The scheme was introduced to improve the living standard of each team member by helping them to meet household necessities, she said. 

North East District deputy district commissioner, Ms Itani Mathumo advised the team to set up a website because it was now a brand. 

The website would help create brand awareness among prospective customers.

 “It will help establish your image by letting the audience know who you are and what you present,” she added. 

Ms Mathumo said the website would also provide reliable information to clients which helped in giving the business a competitive advantage. 

About the organisation, she said it was testified to the existence of life opportunities and encouraged all to take advantage of every opportunity that presented itself. 

Speaking on behalf of the Francistown mayor, Mr Godisang Radisigo, Councillor Morulaganyi Mothowabarwa described Team BK as a catalyst for employment creation. 

There was no doubt the team would have a lasting legacy in the lives of many people including the underprivileged, he said.

Team BK, which became operational in 2019, plans to commercialise its work by building a mall. BOPA
