Vice President Slumber Tsogwane has stressed the importance of comforting others in times of sorrow.
Speaking at the memorial service for Mr Huggings Dlodlo, 78, at Tati Siding on Sunday, he explained that he had come to condole with the family and offer them comfort.
Stressing that only God could remove grief, Mr Tsogwane urged the family to believe in Him and to ask for His mercy saying that way they would have everlasting peace and healing.
Former North East District Council chairperson, Mr Kopano Maruping said the late Mr Dlodlo was a cut above the rest.
Mr Maruping, who is also the deceased’s nephew, said his uncle died after a long illness and that he had been in and out of hospital due to suffering several strokes.
“He succumbed to death after the third stroke,” he said praising the doctors for fighting to save his life.
Mr Dlodlo, a teacher, was the principal of Borolong’s Tlhalogang Junior Secondary School between 2000 and 2004.
He is survived by his wife, five children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
