First Botswana-Rwanda JPCC session on

A Botswana delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Lemogang Kwape is in Kigali for the inaugural session of the Botswana-Rwanda Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation (JPCC).
According to a ministry media release, Dr Kwape will participate in a two-day ministerial session commencing today.
It states that a meeting of senior officials was held April 26-27.
The release explains that the two countries established bilateral relations in 2004 and signed a general cooperation framework agreement, establishing the JPCC in 2019.
The JPCC is expected to strengthen strategic partnership between the two countries through bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
Such areas include trade and investment, science and technology, tourism, justice and legal matters, says the release.
Also planned, it says, is a business forum for the two countries’ private sectors.
Its focus will include agriculture and agro processing, manufacturing, financial as well as business services.
Minister Kwape and his delegation are expected back on Saturday.ENDS
