Tlokweng Member of Parliament, Mr Thulagano Segokgo has urged members of City of Angels Apostolic Church to unite in prayer for the good of the gospel. Speaking during the City of Angels Apostolic Church Easter holiday celebrations in Tlokweng on Friday, Mr Segokgo applauded the contribution made by the church in bringing comfort to the community.
He said the church leadership must encourage good working relations and proper consultations among its congregants as the two values were key to the success of any organisation.
He said the state and the church worked separately but cooperatively as the state protected citizens and the church imparted knowledge about life in general. Mr Segokgo encouraged the church leadership to keep up-to-date financial records in line with requirements of the Societies Act.
He applauded the church leadership for understanding the ideals of the national Vision 2036 and teaching it to members.
Mr Segokgo also thanked the church for frequently donating to vulnerable members of the community, a gesture that was in a way strengthening the already existing fruitful partnership between government and the Church of Christ.
Further, he said by giving to the community, the church was emulating Jesus Christ.
Mr Segokgo said government could not walk alone in its quest to protect the welfare of its citizens and called upon the church leadership to continue doing good.
Giving the church background history, Bishop Emmanuel Ndzimumbe said the church was established in 2003 by the late Archbishop Jobe Ntsebele and his wife Archbishop Salome Ntsebele. He said the church started from humble beginnings but soon grew in leaps and bounds, opening branches countrywide.
It was eventually registered as a society in 2007 and the two founders ordained archbishops in 2010. He said archbishop Ntsebele passed on in 2015 and his wife took over until she called it a day this past Easter Holiday.
During the church’s congress the congregants took a decision to install Prophet Boipuso Ntsebele, the couple’s son, the new Archbishop. ENDS
