Kweneng teachers receive recognition for school performance
11 Apr 2022
Educators in Molepolole South constituency have been hailed for their efforts in improving Kweneng region schools academic reputation.
The schools made remarkable improvement in the 2021 PSLE, JCE and BGCSE results with Dithejwane Junior School emerging the region’s best performer having registered a merit grade.
Kgari Sechele Senior Secondary School, which has been languishing at the bottom, moved from position 28 to 20 nationally.
Speaking during a luncheon to recognise the best performing schools in Molepolole recently, Molepolole South MP Mr Kabo Morwaeng expressed appreciation for efforts put into improving academic performance.
Assuring teachers of government’s support, he said the state’s desire to transform Botswana into a knowledge-based economy was centered on good performance in schools.
Mr Morwaeng therefore urged the teachers to continue in their quest to groom learners into productive and responsible citizens.
For his part, Molepolole Administration Authority chief education officer Ms Mariah Dikeme said the celebrations were well deserved as the region had performed relatively well across all levels of basic education.
She said authorities recognised and appreciated teachers for working hard to achieve better results despite the challenges they faced.
Ms Dikeme thanked the MP for his continued support and willingness to work with the education system on matters concerning learner and teachers' welfare.ENDS
