Insufficient funds stall road construction

The Ministry of Transport and Communications has not been able to proceed with the construction of Radisele-Pilikwe since completion of the designs in June 2017 due to non-availability of funds.
Minister Thulagano Segokgo revealed this when responding to a question in Parliament recently.
Mr Segokgo said as such, the construction of the road would be considered under National Development Plan 12 as a carryover from the NDP 11. Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang, MP for Sefhare/Ramokgonami, had asked the minister to update Parliament on progress made in securing funds for the delayed construction of Radisele-Pilikwe road after assurances made to construct it through Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) and a P300 million Chinese government grant which failed to materialise.
