Sankoyo Primary School celebrates excellence

Cooperation between teachers, parents and other stakeholders is key for academic excellence.
Maun business man, Mr Kenson Kgaga said this at Sankoyo Primary School’s celebration event on Friday.
The school attained 100 per cent in last year’s Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE).
Mr Kgaga, who is also councillor for Senonori-Boro in the Maun Administration Authority (MAA), said excellent results for the school were possible because of cooperation between village leadership, teachers, learners and Parents Teachers Association.
He commended teachers and learners whom he said were responsible for the final outcome.
Mr Kgaga challenged Sankoyo Primary School management to ensure they kept the standard and urged learners to remain committed in their studies as education was key to their future.
To the learners who have progressed to form one, he encouraged them to desist from social ills and avoid engaging in sexual relationships as such behavior would lead them to fail.
Ministry of Basic Education, Maun sub-region chief education officer Mr Brown Sethapelo said it was worth celebrating Sankoyo Primary School as it was among top 10 schools in the country and position one out of 74 schools in the North West District.
Mr Sethapelo appreciated the combine efforts from learners, parents and teachers for the excellent results.
He urged learners to remain committed to their academic work and be well disciplined. Kgosi Gokgathang Moalosi of Sankoyo village said village leadership was committed to assisting the school through the help of the Sankoyo Tshwaragano Management Trust.
Kgosi Moalosi urged parents to keep providing guidance to their children for the school to maintain excellent results.
Former standard seven teacher, Mr Bolotsang Ledimo said he was thankful to the community leaders, the Community Trust for their support to the school.
Mr Ledimo said cooperation between the school teachers and learners bore fruits.
“The learners were dedicated to their school work and were cooperative at all times,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sankoyo Tshwaragano Management Trust donated a printer and a computer to the school. ENDS
